A total of 44 teams will be competing in the Isle of Wight Football League in the 2023/24 season – more than in the previous season.
Pan Community are the most notable absence from Isle of Wight football. The season before last, the East Newport side won a notable treble of trophies: the Hampshire Vase, Junior ‘A’ Cup and Division 2 Championship. However, after the sad loss of legendary long-serving manager Steve Case, Pan are no longer playing competitive football.
At the end of last season, Yarmouth & Calbourne folded, ending the history of the 116-year-old club. East Cowes Vics Reserves are also leaving Isle of Wight football and joining the Hampshire Combination & Development League.
In Division 1, the league has shrunk by 2 teams from the 2022/23 season. Pan have disbanded; Oakfield have taken voluntary relegation to Division 2; Sandown & Lake and Ryde Saints have been relegated; Ventnor and High Park have been promoted from Division 2.
