ISLE OF WIGHT BUSINESS EVENT DELIVERS BIG RESULTS

A capacity audience of over 160 delegates from 103 businesses took their places to join Dale Howarth at the Lakeside Park Hotel & Spa for his ‘No marketing budget, so what’s holding you back?’ networking and seminar event last Wednesday.

The event, which was fully booked within a week of its release in February, started with an hour long reception and networking. This gave all those present, including companies travelling from London and the South Coast, the opportunity to build their network of contacts with other like-minded business people over complimentary light refreshments.

There was also the chance to meet the impressive line-up of event sponsors, which included BCM, Moore Stephens, Lifeline, NFU Mutual, PC Consultants, WightFibre, Isle of Wight Jobs, Hillbans Pest Control, Premier Ford and Santander Corporate.

Following the reception, delegates moved into the Kingfisher Suite and took their seats for the Dale’s ‘No marketing budget, so what’s holding you back’ presentation. A brief opening address was made by Mark Lee, Managing Director of Lifeline, before Dale took to the stage to present what was seen as a very thought-provoking, entertaining and motivational presentation.

During the 90 minute talk, Dale focused on 8 low and no cost marketing methods available to Island businesses that can deliver big results and help drive their success. This included how to stand out from the crowd, the importance of networking and having a good elevator pitch, the power of awards and how to target high value customers through PR and direct mail.

During the presentation Dale re-enforced these lessons to reflect what he calls ‘the real world’ by asking some of those present to share their experiences with those gathered. This included Matt Jeffrey of Brightbulb Design who added his success story to reflect the achievements of Brightbulb Design and the part PR played in this. Sandra Knowles of Hillbans Pest Control spoke passionately about how, after 30 years in business, they moved to become multi-award winning and Jonathan Thornton of PC Consultants gave insights on his businesses use of Direct Mail to successfully Target Key Customers.

At the end of the event delegates received a complimentary copy of Dale’s booklet ‘Practical lessons for Better Business’ which reflected some of the lessons presented and introduced many more.

Nick Lamb, Director of RPL Construction who attended the event commented:

Dale is highly regarded as one of a handful of Accredited CPD Speakers in the country, in addition to having been awarded ‘Provider of Training Excellence’ by The CPD Standards Office based in London. Most recently Dale was appointed as a CPD Ambassador, one of only twelve such Ambassadors.
