Hundreds, if not thousands of mince pies are set to be delivered to businesses across the Isle of Wight on 18th December as part of The Mince Pie Marathon!
Wootton-based Brightbulb Design have launched a charity initiative in aid of their charity of the year, The Wight Brainy Bunch. It is the brainchild of CEO Matt Jeffery.
Businesses of all shapes and sizes are being encouraged to purchase as many mince pies as they can consume for £1 each. The Brightbulb team will then whizz around the Island like Santa’s little helpers delivering the pre-ordered treats – all in a single day.
The fundraiser is being supported by Waitrose, Tesco and Asda.
Matt says:
“We want as many stops as we can to be marked out on our marathon map, as many mince pies ordered from businesses all over the Island and as much money raised as possible for this fantastic charity. Come on everyone, let’s see how hard you can make this for us. Who will take the top spot on the Mince Pie Marathon leaderboard.”
The Wight Brainy Bunch was set up by Mark Grimes and his wife Kathryn following Mark’s diagnosis of a brain tumour in February 2015. Realising that very little funding is received for research into brain tumours they embarked on a series of fundraising events to benefit the Brain Tumour Charity.
