Police on the Isle of Wight are investigating a burglary at a shop in Cowes, which is thought to have resulted in the suspect(s) being injured.
Number One fragrance & accessories on Birmingham Road was broken into at some point between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.
An amount of blood was left at the scene and trailing up the road as a result of the smashing of the glass window. Forensic investigators have taken samples in a bid to identify the person or persons responsible.
Kay Read, the shop’s owner, was alerted to the incident by a school girl who passed the shop front at 08:00 and called a mobile number displayed in the window.
A total of 5 different pairs of ladies wellies, all size 5, have been stolen in the incident alongside empty perfume boxes. The wellies are said to be exclusive to the Cowes shop and are therefore not sold anywhere else on the Island.
