With the weather remaining mild and dry, Newport’s Illuminated Carnival returned yesterday evening (Wednesday) after a 10-year break.
As the colorful and vibrant lights lit up Newport town, the celebration atmosphere could be felt throughout as Newport’s summer carnival extravaganza comes to an end for 2013.
Setting off from Matalan car park, the procession made its way up through Nodehill and back down the High Street as thousands of spectators gathered to celebrate the carnival spirit.
An American fire engine was the highlight of the evening, advertising the upcoming Island Steam Show at Havenstreet this weekend.
