Police are yet to identify the human remains that washed up at Freshwater Bay at the tail end of last year.
As first reported by Island Echo, a dog walker made the gruesome discovery of a human hand and lower arm on 28th December.
Hampshire Constabulary have this week confirmed that tests are still being carried out some 5 weeks after the discovery. It is not known when the results will be returned.
It is thought the confirmed human remains had been in the water for some time, but it is still unknown if the they originate from a sea burial or not.
