UPDATED: The partial remains of a human body have washed ashore at Freshwater Bay today (Wednesday).
A dog walker made the gruesome discovery of a human forearm and hand whilst enjoying a stroll along the beach this morning,
The remains, made up of bone and some heavily decomposed tissue, were handed to Freshwater Independent Lifeboat.
Hampshire Constabulary have been notified of the discovery.
UPDATE @ 16:48 – A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson has said:
“Initial analysis confirms this is a human hand and has been in the water for a significant amount of time.
“It has been sent away for further analysis.”
