CANCELLED – The planned departure of HMS Queen Elizabeth has been cancelled.
A new date will be advised by the Royal Navy in due course.
HMS Queen Elizabeth will set sail from Portsmouth tomorrow morning (Tuesday) to conduct the first UK trials with the brand new F35 fighter jet.
The Royal Navy’s flagship aircraft carrier will leave Portsmouth Harbour at around 08:30 before heading down the Eastern Solent and into open waters.
It has been confirmed that the carrier will be conducting sea trials with the country’s new F35 fighter jets. Although testing has taken place in the US, it will be the first time the fighters have carried out trial runs with HMS Queen Elizabeth in UK waters.
