The now annual Highland Gathering returned to the Island yesterday (Sunday) as Robin Hill Adventure Park played host to the Scottish-themed event.
As well as a variety of cultural food and drink, around 4000 visitors enjoyed bagpipe playing and traditional haggis throwing competitions, as well as listening to drumming bands from around the country, all in aid of the Earl Mountbatten Hospice in Newport.
The main attraction of the day was the caber toss, which saw teams compete against each other, including firefighters from Ryde Fire Station.
Re-enactment group, 42nd Battalion of the Blackwatch, entertained the crowds alongside falconry displays and of course the normal Robin Hill attractions.
The rain moved on just in time for the 10:00 start, staying warm and dry throughout.
