Islanders are being asked to keep an eye out for a missing dog named George, who has run away from a pet sitter’s house in Havenstreet whilst his owners are on holiday in Egypt.
George was dropped off at the sitter earlier this week but by Tuesday lunchtime he had escaped.
Donna Canning and her family are currently on holiday but have issued an appeal for information through Facebook in a bid to locate their much-loved pet, who is said to be vocal but harmless.
There have been a number of sightings of George on Briddlesford Road, the cycle path by the crematorium and near to Butterfly Road – all within a reasonable distance of Havenstreet.
Anyone who thinks they have spotted George, or knows of his whereabouts, is asked to contact Kirsty on 07786076540.

Let’s hope he is found safe, an awful responsibility as I know, caring for someone else’s dog.
Are there any updates on George. Has anyone seen him over the weekend ?
