Over the past month Police have been investigating numerous reports of suspicious incidents across the Island, including reports of gun shots being heard and spotlights being seen.
The Countrywatch team have been monitoring the situation and investigating accordingly, with patrols stepped up in several areas.
In Yarmouth, a male was reported as acting suspiciously close to a farm; when challenged he walked away. Whilst in Brighstone, copper piping and sheets of lead have been stolen from a property on private land.
Officers have also received several reports of individual’s trespassing on land in the Brading area.
Police are urging residents to keep an eye out and to report anything suspicious by calling 101.
