Gritters will be treating the Island’s road network overnight with hail, sleet and possibly even snow expected between now and Tuesday morning.
According to forecasters at IW Met Service, showery outbreaks of rain are expected as tonight progresses with the risk of hail mixed in. Some of the showers may also turn wintry with sleet or even a few flakes of snow over the highest hills. Later in the night, the showery spells will ease to leave just the odd scattered shower of rain, hail or sleet.
There will be a risk of localised frost/ice in some parts of the Island, especially sheltered rural areas.
Island Roads have confirmed that gritters will be carrying out a run from 05:00.
Drivers are reminded to drive carefully and allow extra time for their journeys.
