Green Party co-leader Jonathan Bartley opened the Isle of Wight Green Party shop and campaign headquarters on St James Street, Newport on Saturday.
Accompanied by Green candidate Vix Lowthian, Bartley told an enthusiastic crowd of members and supporters that he came with a message of support from co-leader Caroline Lucas who said that she was excited by the prospect of having Vix Lowthian alongside her in Parliament in June.
Bartley want on to say that the Greens were the challengers to the conservative minded parties and that Greens were the real challengers to the old backward looking politics of the past.
Vix Lowthian took the opportunity to thanks all the members and supporters who had put so much time and effort into getting the shop decorated and ready to open in just 4 days. She said:
“With the level of support and enthusiasm I have seen since our brilliant local election results last Thursday, we are set up to see the most exciting election campaign that the Isle of Wight has seen”.
