UPDATED: The Green Party’s Animals spokesperson Keith Taylor MEP and Isle of Wight parliamentary candidate Vix Lowthion will launch the Green Party’s Animals manifesto on the Isle of Wight tomorrow (Thursday 25th May).
The manifesto will set out the Party’s bold and compassionate animal welfare priorities, including strengthening the hunting ban, halting the badger cull and introducing a science-led alternative, and ending factory farming.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Keith has said:
“I’m honoured to represent a party that has consistently and unwaveringly defended animals. Compassion for animals is in the Green Party’s DNA.”
“Our pledges on factory farming, promoting a reduction in meat consumption, ending the use of cages, and working for the complete replacement of animals in research and testing have never been matched by other parliamentary parties. And these are not just promises, but policies I – in the European Parliament – stand up for every day.”
“We need more Greens in Westminster working for a kinder, more compassionate world.”

UPDATE THURSDAY – In light of Monday night’s terrorist attack in Manchester, the Green Party will continue suspending campaigning today (Thursday).
All national campaigning events, including the launch of the Animals Manifesto, are cancelled until Friday lunchtime.
Keith Taylor MEP will, instead, being travelling to the Isle of Wight today to host a public forum on animal welfare issues alongside animal advocates, councillors and Vix Lothian.
