Dr Anna Collar – the Green Party’s Mayoral Candidate – will visit Newport this month to discuss her plans for a greener and fairer Hampshire and Isle of Wight.
Dr Collar will speak at Quay Arts on Sunday (23rd November), with the event running from 12:45 to 13:40 in the venue’s Seminar Room.
Residents will have the opportunity to hear directly from her about her background, the powers of a regional mayor, and the Green Party’s priorities for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Attendees will also be able to put their own questions to the candidate.
Cllr Cameron Palin, Chair of the Isle of Wight Green Party, said:
“This event is about bringing people together to talk about the future we want — one rooted in fairness, sustainability and community. Anna’s passion and vision offer real hope for positive change, and we’re excited to welcome her to the island.”
Ahead of her visit, Dr Collar added:
“I love the Isle of Wight and I am excited to come and meet as many people as possible, to hear from Islanders how they want the new Mayor to address the Island’s housing needs, lower the cost of living and improve the service and cost of transport both across the Island and to the mainland. I hope to see you there!”

The Quay Arts Café will be open before and after the discussion, offering a relaxed space for refreshments and conversation among local members and supporters.
Donations on the day will be welcomed to support the campaign and the ongoing work of the Isle of Wight Green Party.
Anything at the moment is better than Labour.
I wonder if the good doctor shares the belief of her Green Party Deputy Leader that all illegal migrants are brain surgeons and engineers? Also what does her mission to bring ‘ fairness’ to the Island mean? If her party’s record is anything to go by, that translates as ‘We will keep our privileged, wealthy position and lifestyle while you white plebs do as your told and stop being wasteful,lazy and horrible to all those nice persecuted people who do us the honour of wanting to live here.’
