People Matter IW has been awarded an overall ‘Good’ rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) after it’s Personal Assistant Recruitment and Employment (PARES) was deemed positive in all 5 areas during a recent inspection.
PARES is a person centred service that puts individuals at the centre of choosing their own support and removes the responsibility of them becoming an employer. People Matter IW takes the responsibility of employing the Personal Assistant as well as looking after employment responsibilities, professional development training for the PA, Insurance, DBS Checks and references.
The encouraging report states that the management team has a clear vision of how they want the service to be provided, which focuses on ensuring people are at the centre of the service and in direct control over the way they received care and support. In addition, the report goes on to say that the service is flexible and responsive to people’s changing needs and focused on providing person centred care.
Terri Baker, the Registered Manager said:
“We have developed the service by listening to the people we support so that they are central at all times within their support. This is because of the hard work the Staff and Management has put into making sure that People ‘do’ Matter”.
PARES is based at the Independent Living Centre 1 & 2 Bernard Way, Newport.
