Fresh from the sell-out success of their first Gilbert and Sullivan show, Pirates of Penzance, in September, GASP (Gilbert and Sullivan Productions) are delighted to present an afternoon of Carols and Mince Pies at 14:30 on 11th December.
A fundraiser for Bembridge Village Hall where the event is held, the show promises to get you in the Christmas mood with a mix of traditional carols and festive songs, which you can sing along to – or enjoy listening if you prefer – along with a few seasonal readings and some lesser known musical pieces.
Familiar and loved carols such as Silent Night, We Three Kings, Once In Royal David’s City and Hark The Herald Angels Sing are accompanied on the varied programme by old traditional songs such as The Coventry Carol and The Sussex Carol, alongside festive favourites including White Christmas, Sleigh Ride, The Little Boy That Santa Claus Forgot and Jingle Bell Rock.
The bar will be open, so enjoy a complimentary drink -mulled wine perhaps? -to accompany your free mince pie, then relax and take a break from the card writing and present wrapping to enjoy the festive music and atmosphere. Unfortunately, there’s no ride home on Santa’s sleigh, but you will leave the hall tapping your feet, singing and feeling very very Christmassy.
