“Interestingly, the Green Party’s Vix Lowthion is the only candidate who has not disclosed their address to electorates”
That statement clearly indicates one of three things, either they live in somewhere large, expensive and likely consuming vast amounts of energy to run, thus know it is hypocritical, and want this kept from their hoped for voters.
or
They live in a tree, in the middle of a woods, really living a green existence, but cannot give an address, or postcode.
or
They don’t wish their families life hassled by weird, people turning up at their home.
I am not a Green supporter but feel to have to ‘mention’ and point out this on the Echo, is unfair, as it is being somewhat biased, and unnecessary for YOU to do so.
Just ‘undisclosed’ would have been the ‘right’ thing to do
I am voting Conservative, only because we need to leave the EU, or our children will suffer for our folly if not
Why will your children suffer?
As you found the need to ask that, then you are beyond explaining too. Ditto for the other poster asking ‘why’.
Have you not seen how bad things have become since being ‘in’ the EU in latter years?
YOU should ask ‘how bad will things become IF we stay, not if we leave’.
In other words, you don’t know.
How will our children suffer? Compared to the horrid state that Boris or Farage would create. Although, not certainly, as they’ve not disclosed ANY manifestos , so who knows!! Let’s vote blind for a man that isn’t proud enough of his kids to mention how many he has. Excellent.
They’re a local counciller in Freshwater, you muppet!
Live in Freshwater? Pretty vocal on local matters that don’t actually effect her personally.
I would love to vote green but my passion to leave EU is stronger.
No repy as to why we should leave the EU then ??
She is a secondary school teacher and, as such, will not want pupils to know her address. Or indeed their parents.
Please now state your address Az-zahra Aziz, here, in this comments area.
Possibly, Lowthian wasn’t sure what one of her properties to use…
yes- better not put the wrong one eh – after all, she wouldn’t want the voters driving past to see how big the house is, how many natural resources were used in its construction, in comparison to the dwellings the people she preaches to about carbon reduction live in and how many cars are parked on the driveway.
I bet the carbon footprint of her home is massive compared to that of the electorate.
I bet she doesn’t give a second thought to climate change, when ratcheting up the heating indoors as it is winter.
She bought another large house in Quay Street, Newport. Possibly with tax savings made, see link, https://order-order.com/2019/04/16/green-party-candidates-husband-owns-tax-haven-based-mining-company/
“I bet this” “I bet that”. Have you actually got a shred of evidence for any of these things you’re saying?
grow up allex
I’m certainly not voting for her but why the heck should she have to reveal her address !!!
The Representation of the People Act 1983. The Rules for Parliamentary Elections are contained in Schedule 1 to the 1983 Act. Rule 6 provides that: “The nomination paper shall state the candidate’s full name, home address in full and, if desired, description.”
This was amended in 2009 to being voluntary (lets just throw history out the window as it didn’t suit the Facebook generation) but in the interests of transparency and of establishing some local connection with the seat in question might themselves be said to have some value of stating the address.
proves that she actually lives in the constituency that she is standing in.
She’s a local councillor in Freshwater – if you knew anything about the Isle of Wight you’d know this
Believe me, I am aware of this. check out some of her comments the Freshwater Parish Council meeting minutes. You may be surprised how someone who doesn’t live in Freshwater has such a strong opinion on things locally…
A Parish Councillor to be accurate. Quite happy to vote for over development of building plots and houses on green field sites locally..
Indeed, a candidate revealing their address is madness, especially in this political climate.
at allex..they wouldn’t have to worry if they implemented the instructions given by a majority result in a democratic referendum, especially when they said they would.
Not much choice there then. Paper, pen and pin I guess.
And you will likely get a prick, either way.
Is Bob Seely`s address his Holiday Home ???
