Rouse Limited is organising a spectacular raffle to help raise much-needed funds for the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA).
The raffle will be held on Saturday 24th June at a fun event between 10:00 and 16:00 at the Rouse Limited office at Lugley House in Newport.
You can head along and learn more about the work of the HIOWAA and you also experience what it’s like inside the helicopter and put your flying skills to the test! (This is suitable for those aged 11 and over).
The independent financial planners have chosen HIOWAA as their headline charity for 2023 and hope to raise at least £20,000. They have also pledged to match all funds raised, up to £20,000.
Spectacular prizes include a luxury ‘on the water’ experience, a fine art photographic print, and a quality drinks hamper. The prize draw will take place on Friday 29th September.
Lisa Butler, Director of Rouse Limited, has said:
“Having learned more about the HIOWAA, I am in awe of the extent of the service it provides and am very pleased we are able to support them. This is a service that hopefully none of us will ever have the need to use – but we’re determined to ensure it continues to be there for everyone who does.
“We hope as many people as possible will come along to the raffle-launch event, buy a ticket or 2, and hear first-hand how vital this service is. Please help us to keep the service flying.”
Incredibly, the Air Ambulance attends, on average, 5 missions a day, every day of the year, many of them life-saving. Each mission costs an average of £3,320 and, at the time of writing, HIOWAA have flown 259 missions so far this year. Perhaps because of the unique geography of the Island, many of those are to the Isle of Wight and, indeed, Island Echo reported on 3 shouts in a single day last month.
