FAIR WEATHER AND PERSONAL BESTS FOR RYDE HARRIERS

Ryde Harriers took part in a Half Marathon at Gosport at the weekend, with many runners achieving personal bests at the event.

There were some strong performances for everyone on the day, but it was Gary Marshall that crossed the line as the first Harrier home with an impressive 1:15:30, coming in 14th overall.

Peter Young recorded a 1:32:45 and was the first veteran 70-74.

In the Men’s Team event, Ryde Harriers were 4th with other great results from Adam Tuck with a respectful time of 01:16:39, Trevor McAlister not far behind at 01:25:34, Alex Robertson coming in at 01:25:41, Richard Melville minutes behind with a healthy 01:27:19 and Graham Gardner at 01:37:38. Richard Balmer completed it in 01:42:59 and Michael Dignon finished in 01:55:42.

Trevor McAlister and Peter Young beat their last Half Marathon results.

The women once again impressed with Claire Angell crossing the line at 01:50:39 and Natalie Rose in 1:55:42. Caroline Dall-Whittal finished in a time of 02:00:54, Carole Barry 02:01:03 and Lisa Robertson not far behind with a time of 02:01:11 . Last but not least Sian Savin completed her race in 02:07:28.
