A field team from the Environment Agency have been working hard to help project homes and businesses in Brading and Sandown.
Work has been undertaken this week to clean Budbridge Weir on the Eastern Yar near Merstone.
Maintaining the weir ensures accurate river flow data which is used for flood forecasting and warning service. This helps to protect homes and businesses in the towns of Brading and Sandown and further afield.
The Eastern Yar river flows from St Catherine’s Down near Whitwell and Niton, through the heart of the Island to Embankment Road, Bembridge.
