There was disappointment for Ryde Rowing Club’s crews yesterday (Sunday) when their season opener was cancelled due to the extreme weather, poor forecast and threat of flooding.

Rowers were due to compete at the Christchurch Rowing Club ‘Head of the Stour’ in what would have been their first competitive outing of the new season, but the meet was pulled due to the conditions.

The Wightlink-sponsored club are ready for another competitive season and are prepared with a Women’s J16 Double; a J14 Mixed Double; a Masters Coxless Pair; a Men’s Open Sculler; 2 Men’s Novice Scullers; a Boys J14 Sculler and 3 Fours – a Senior Ladies Four, a Men’s Novice Four and a Boys J16 Four.
