Local charity Age UK Isle of Wight has partnered with community churches to welcome those with dementia, their carers, family and friends to a Dementia Friendly Easter Service this April.
These welcoming services are shorter, more informal and specifically designed with the needs of people living with dementia in mind, although everyone is welcome.
Each offers accessible service booklets, traditional hymns and prayers, short readings and an address with time to socialise and meet other visitors.
The Newport service will be supported by Newport CofE primary school singing and there will be tea, coffee and biscuits after each service.
You can join a Dementia Friendly Easter service in:
• Newport on Monday 1st April from 11:00 at the Newport Congregational Church, Pyle Street
• Ryde on Thursday 18th April from 14:30 at St. John the Baptist Church, High Park Road

Dementia Friendly Church Services are part of the BIG Lottery Funded Ageing Better Programme, to create Age and Dementia Friendly Communities on the Isle of Wight.
