Local charity Age UK Isle of Wight has partnered with community churches to welcome those with dementia, their carers, family and friends to a Dementia Friendly Christmas Carole Service this December.

These welcoming services are shorter, more informal and specifically designed with the needs of people living with dementia in mind, although everyone is welcome.

Each offers accessible service booklets, traditional hymns and prayers, short readings and an address with time to socialise and meet other visitors. Newport and Ryde will be supported by a local primary school singing carols and there will be tea, coffee and mince pies after each service.
