A win for 11th-placed Newport against bottom-of-the-table Spurs could see the County Town side rise as high as 6th in the Wessex Division 1 table. Their opponents have yet to gain a single point in the season to date.
Newport themselves have not secured a single home point in the Wessex League this season but have only played 1 game (at Beatrice Avenue) but have won all 3 away games. Last season’s fixture against Spurs at Smallbrook saw the Port secure maximum points in an emphatic 8-0 victory.
Kick-off is at the earlier time of 14:00. This season, there is no minibus taking supporters from Newport to Smallbrook.
16th-placed Cowes will hope to rise to a midtable position in the Wessex Premier by beating Portland. Maximum points could see the Yachtsmen go as high as 8th place. Portland currently lie in 10th place, but only 1 point separates the 2 sides.
Kick off at Westwood Park is at the usual time of 15:00.
18th-placed East Cowes Vics travel to Dorset to face 6th-placed Verwood Town. Vics have won 1 and lost 1 of their 2 away games of the season. A win against the Potters could (in theory) see the East Cowes side rise as high as 11th in Wessex Division 1.

Saturday also sees Isle of Wight teams compete in the Hampshire Trophy and Vase. Isle of Wight Division 1 sides play in the Trophy; Division 2 and reserve sides are eligible for the Vase.
Isle of Wight teams have an excellent record in the Hampshire cups: last season Pan Community won the Hampshire Vase and Shanklin were the beaten finalists in the Trophy.
