The Isle of Wight Council says they are extremely grateful to contractors and suppliers for sponsoring the erection of 3 sparkling Christmas trees at St Mary’s junction.
It was decided to place the trees for all to see as a big festive thank you to the community for its patience and understanding during the St Mary’s improvement works.
Council leader Dave Stewart said:
“I wish to thank publicly Crown Park, Wight Building Materials and Island Roads for their support in sponsoring the trees.
“Collectively they have all enabled us to provide some positive good cheer at this special time and to say thank you to our residents and wider community for working with the inconvenience the roadworks have caused to their daily lives.
“The council wishes everyone a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.”
Shame the council didnt think about doing it
Before all the miserable gits start moan I would like to say well done to you for trying to put a smile however little on a lot of gloomy gits.
Yes I don’t agree with the job, but I have worked as a contractor to Crownpark and know it will be a top job….. more than likely done well ahead of schedule.
