Island Echo has received a desperate plea to reach out to all our readers to help find a new home (either foster or permanent) for Holly a medium-sized, spayed bitch.
Since Christmas, the Friends of the Animals have been inundated with dogs and have absolutely nowhere for her to go and time is running out.
Holly is not used to children and will need to be an only dog within the premises as she did not have any interaction with them in her early years.
She is frightened of fireworks and the Vets, but other than that she is a beautiful pet who loves cuddles, being brushed, having biscuits, following you around and having a fuss.
Holly is 12-years-old and sleeps a lot, but she does enjoy a walk and is best on an ‘anti-pull harness’ as she is strong.
She also needs a muzzle in areas of other dogs but loves to run off lead and muzzle free whenever safe to do so.
She doesn’t go far from you, preferring to stay in your sight and she comes back when she is called.
Holly loves the garden, adores playing ‘seek the treats’ and she will sit and give you her paw.
As Holly is getting on in years, she would not do well in kennels and we urgently need a kind reader to step in and provide a warm fireside.
Friends of the Animals will provide everything else.

Poor thing! I’d have her but have a very energetic year old dog so am unable to. Someone out there can surely home her in her final years.
