Easy access to the beach at Compton off Military Road has been reinstated just in time for the school holidays.
Thanks to work by contractors Peter Faithful Quality Timber and Taylor&Taylor Groudworks, the new access steps have been finished and opened to the public.
The completion of the work means that beach goers, surfers and fossil hunters alike can now access the long sandy stretch with ease from the main car park at Hanover Point.
The reinstatement has been a joint scheme between the Isle of Wight Council’s Rights of Way team and the National Trust.
