As part of the Isle of Wight Walking Festival, the Island’s young people’s charity Challenge & Adventure are organising an overnight walk covering some 26 miles across the Isle of Wight between Bembridge and The Needles.
‘Challenge the Wight’ will take place on the first day of this years walking festival, the 3rd May, and will see walkers take on the strenuous 26 mile trek from Bembridge – starting at 23:00 – all the way over to The Needles Park finishing at around 07:00 the next day.
The event will be fully marshalled with front and back walking marshals and static marshalling points across the route with off road vehicles covering inaccessible points with first aid cover, putting safety first. The charity event has an entry fee of just £25 per adult and £15 for children – It is recommend the child be over 10 years and must be accompanied with an adult.
Each walker taking part will be given a t-shirt, carrying bag and a head torch plus a medal on completion. At the finish at the Needles Park, with the support of WA Foods and Gibson’s, each walker will receive a bacon bap and a warm drink.
