Shanklin and Sandown Rowing Club’s Carter Horrix and Louis Sheasby will travel to France at the weekend to represent Great Britain in the annual GB v France J16 match. The pair will compete in the boys’ double sculls after winning the trial event at Nottingham last weekend. The boys have had a superb season having already claimed victories at the Junior Inter-regional Regatta, representing the Wessex region, and at the National Schools regatta, the biggest junior event in the country. They are also part of Shanklin’s Men’s Coastal Junior Four crew that have secured the Hants & Dorset championship with 4 regattas to go. This is a remarkable achievement as they have had to fit their training schedule around their GCSEs.
