GASP will bring festive carols, readings and mulled wine back to Bembridge Village Hall on Sunday 14th December for a cosy afternoon of Christmas music.
Bembridge Village Hall has been packed out for the past 4 years for what many locals see as the true start of the festive season – Carols and Mince Pies with GASP. Known for their Gilbert and Sullivan shows – this year’s being The Sorcerer – the company’s talented singers will once again turn their voices to a rich mix of Christmas music, both traditional and contemporary.
The 2025 event begins at 14:30, with the choir inviting Islanders to join them in singing beloved carols such as We Three Kings, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen and In the Bleak Midwinter. Audiences can also enjoy standout solo and choral performances of O Holy Night, I’ll Be Home for Christmas and more. Fans of GASP may even recognise the song Ring Forth Ye Bells from their September production.
Alongside the music, a handful of short festive readings will add to the seasonal atmosphere. The hall itself will be fully decorated by GASP members, with the decorations staying in place for upcoming Christmas events at the venue.
Adding an extra layer of warmth, the bar will once again serve traditional hot mulled wine and mince pies, as well as tea and coffee.
Organisers say the afternoon offers a chance to step out of the cold – or the Island’s more likely wind and rain – and simply enjoy an uplifting celebration of music, friendship and community spirit.
Tickets are still available but selling quickly. They can be booked online at ticketsource.co.uk/gasp or by calling 07761 460925.
