A car has left the road and come to rest deep in the ditches on the main Sandown to Bembridge road this morning (Monday).
It was at around 09:00 that emergency services responded to Sandown Road, near the entrance to Culver Down.
It had been reported that a vehicle – a blue Ford Galaxy – had left the carriageway and was on its side.
Police responded to the scene, alongside resources from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service. Hampshrer & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service mobilised crews from Ryde and Shanklin.
But emergency services didn’t remain on scene long, with no action taken.
It is unclear when exactly the motor left the road.
Sandown Road remains open as normal – with Marshcombe Shute still closed for unconnected roadworks.
