The list of candidates standing in next month’s Newport West by-election has been revealed.
6 candidates will be vying to become a county councillor for the Newport West electoral division (ward) following the resignation of Chris Whitehouse.
The major parties are all represented – Conservative, Labour, Lib Dem and Green Party – with 2 independents also standing.
The by-election will take place on the same day as the General Election – 12th December.

Of the 6 candidates, 2 have chosen not to reveal their addresses. Of the other 4 candidates, only 1 lives in Newport.
Why would you withhold your place of residence
Guilt, for having a huge sumptuous warm home, with sweeping drive, large garden, secluded whilst the hypocrites tell the rest of us to be content with a bughutch, with no parking, a hard standing for the wheely bin, and so close to the neighbours with flimsy build, that if they turn on their bedroom light then we can’t sleep.
That or they don’t wish to have reprisal attacks on their family, when the ruin the lives of others in this agro society we have created by overcrowding thanks to mass immigration polices.
I can only say that withholding information from the electorate in such a way is hardly a good look with which to kick off a campaign, the key principle at stake in which situation has to be trust and confidence in the candidate for whom you intend to vote!
Is this the same “ Trust & Confidence” which saw the St Mary’s Roundabout ‘improvement’ fiasco voted through as a sneaky amendment to an unrelated bill,… the instigator of which then resigns so as not to have to face the music when the result ends up being worse that it was before, despite costing £9m+++
