Island Roads have been forced to close Briddlesford Road near Downend this morning (Thursday) to allow for emergency tree maintenance works.
The busy road between Wootton and Downend has been closed between the junctions of Gravel Pit Lane and Long Lane for a distance of 1,230 metres.
Motorists are being diverted via Whiterails Road, Staplers Road and Long Lane.
It is thought access will be maintained to Lynnbottom Tip.
UPDATE @ 12:45 – Briddlesford Road has now re-opened in both directions.
