Boots will close one of its stores in Sandown early next year, it has been confirmed.
The small pharmacy at 107 High Street will shut permanently on Saturday 15th February 2020.
A spokesperson for Boots UK has told Island Echo:
“Closing a pharmacy is never an easy decision, nor one we take lightly. We continually review our store locations to make sure they are where our customers need us most.
“In Sandown, we can confirm we have taken the decision to close our store on 107 High Street. We have another store which is approximately 5 minutes’ walk away on 15 High Street.
All store colleagues at 107 High Street have been offered jobs at other nearby Boots stores.

Another “nail” in the coffin for Sandown businesses
This the smaller of 2 Boots chemists in Sandown. The’re closing it because everyone uses the larger store.
Likely the staff don’t wish to be ‘held up’ by local scum, who only go ‘in’ for methadone fix.
Never understood why there were two Boots on the High Street.
