A cheque for £365 has been handed over to Ryde-based Haylands Farm by members of Bembridge Little Theatre Club.
Each year, the club chooses a local good cause to support with Haylands Farm being chosen for 2020. However, with no shows and therefore no donations due to the COVID pandemic, support for the charity rolled over into 2021.
The cheque represents the raffles and bucket collections taken in the last year as Bembridge Little Theatre Club (BLTC), along with other theatre groups across the UK, have been able to restart their acclaimed shows. Readers may remember ‘Full Circle’, ‘A Bard in the Hand’ and ‘Nunsense’, all of which played to large, appreciative audiences and drew wonderful reviews.
This year BLTC will be supporting not 1 but 2 excellent local causes, with raffle and collection monies going to the Isle of Wight Prostate Cancer Support Group and audiences being invited to bring along items for donation to the Isle of Wight Foodbank.
If you would like to support these groups, and enjoy a cracking show, BLTC will be staging Noel Coward’s hilarious and beautifully scripted ‘Blithe Spirit’ which opens on 12th May at Bembridge Village Hall. Before that, BLTC member Hanna Nixon will be bringing her 1-woman show ‘An Evening with Judy Garland’ to the Village Hall on 10th April with proceeds going to the theatre group.
Tickets for both shows are available from the BLTC box office on 07841 950261.
