Becky Wall, the victim of last month’s serious car crash on Briddlesford Road that left the mum-of-one fighting for her life, has now left intensive care and is back on the Isle of Wight.
28-year-old Becky was seriously injured when her Vauxhall Astra collided with a BMW near Wootton on 27th June. Becky was so badly injured she was placed into an induced coma and has spent the past 4 weeks in intensive care at Southampton General Hospital.
Now, Becky has been transferred back to the Isle of Wight and is making great progress with her rehabilitation. The news comes at the same time that a fundraiser to support Becky’s family hits a staggering £13,000 – raised through the generosity of Islanders on Facebook.
The family last night said:
“Becky is now back on the island! The last few days have seen some MASSIVE progress. We’ve had her sat in a special medical chair, we get full tracking with her face and eyes around the room when we walk and talk.
“We get smiles, and giggles when she finds something funny, and frowns and the odd tear when something annoys her. She is trying her hardest to talk but just cant quite get it out yet. The nurses have heard the odd word so fingers crossed that’s coming soon!
“Becky can swallow and we are hoping being nil by mouth will end soon. Much like before the incident Becky finds fart jokes hilarious, and blowing a raspberry is almost guarenteed to get a beaming smile!
It was just 4 days ago that Island Echo reported that Becky had come off life support and was making progress.
Benjamin Entwistle, 31, of Westlake Avenue, Lake has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance and failing to stop and report an accident. He has been remanded in custody ahead of his appearance at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on 12th August.

I hope they give this idiot, a long prison sentence!
I am so happy for her and her family, I could cry xxx
