A 23-year-old man arrested earlier this year on suspicion of being an adult in a position of trust inciting sexual activity with a child has had his bail extended as Police enquiries continue.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that the man, from East Cowes, remains on bail until 16th December.
As first reported by Island Echo, the arrest was made back in March after Police received reports of a male allegedly engaging in sexual communication with a child.
At the time, Island Echo reported that the man was a staff member at an Isle of Wight secondary school.
As part of the investigation, officers carried out a search of a residential address connected with the individual, where electronic devices were seized.
The man was also arrested at the time on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in relation to a separate allegation. That matter has since been dropped.
Police enquiries into the alleged sexual offence remain ongoing.
