Asda Newport, which is due to open this summer, is to hold 3 days of drop-in sessions in order to meet candidates for the prospective 200+ job roles that the store is set to offer Islanders.
Jobs at the Island’s first Asda store include everything from checkout operators, replenishment colleagues and home shopping personal shoppers to online grocery delivery drivers and more.
The drop-in sessions, which will begin next week, will allow interested candidates to meet Asda Newport’s general store manager, Kenny Farrell, and other senior colleagues for the supermarket. Here they can ask any questions about the job roles, receive an introduction to Asda and its values and hear more about how to apply for the positions available.
Running on Friday 14th, Saturday 15th and Monday 17th April between 10:00-16:00, the sessions will take place at The Innovation Centre at St Cross Business Park, Newport. The application process itself will formally open in early May.
Kenny Farrell, general store manager at Asda Newport, said:
“This is a great opportunity to find more about the new store and to discover what Asda job roles are perfect for you. We’ll also be able to provide information on the benefits of being an Asda colleague and how we can help you grow your career in retail.
“I’m really excited about these drop-in sessions, it’s an ideal way for us to meet our potential new store team and we look forward to getting to know the Isle of Wight and its residents.”
