The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service is experiencing technical difficulties with the 111 helpline this lunchtime (Friday), resulting in delays for those trying to get through.
Islanders are being advised that calls to the non-emergency number will be answered, but it will take longer than normal to get through to an operator.
If you think what you are calling about is an emergency then call 999 as normal.
The 111 service is run from The Hub at St Mary’s Hospital.
Island Echo will advise when the service has returned to normal

People should get a grip, stop calling for ridiculous things. That system causes for problems than it helps. Shut it down, emergency calls only
