UPDATED: The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are attending a ‘sensitive’ incident in Bembridge this evening (Saturday).
The yellow charity-funded helicopter landed in a field off Mill Road at around 18:00 after being requested to attend an incident at an address in Dennett Road in the village.
Firefighters from Sandown are assisting the ambulance service, although the specifics of what has occurred are currently unclear.
UPDATE @ 19:30 – HEMS doctors and paramedics have joined paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service in conveying 1 person to St Mary’s Hospital, Newport by land ambulance this evening.
The air ambulance helicopter has taken off from Bembridge to rendezvous with the HEMS team at the St Mary’s helipad.
Emergency services have now left the scene at a semi-detached property off the High Street.
UPDATE @ 22:20 – Island Echo understands an 18-year-old male is being treated in hospital after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest.
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to assist paramedic crews in transferring the patient from the loft space of the property and into the awaiting ambulance.
