Ad Lib Theatre are back at Northwood House and are heading for the streets of Rome with one of Shakespeare’s best-loved plays – Julius Caesar – from 12th-15th June.
From the team that brought you superb sell-out Shakespeare shows like Hamlet, Comedy of Errors, Macbeth, Taming of the Shrew (as well as Ghost Hunting in January) comes this thrilling tale of humanity at its best and worst.
Julius Caesar is victorious! He is popular, but his rise to power is accelerating, and there are those in the Senate that fear for the future of Rome. For better or worse, they begin plotting what remains one of the most famous assassinations in history. Directed by Simon Lynch, the play is brought to life by an incredibly talented cast who entertain and challenge from start to finish with exciting dialogue, fabulous characterisations, and expert stage combat.
This open-air show invites you to bring chairs and picnics, and The Lawn Bar will be serving refreshments on site. If the weather is inclement, the show will move inside to the ballroom, so audience members can book tickets, secure that the show will go ahead, on 01983 293642 or northwoodhouse.org/events.
So, how does power change those it touches? Is any one person truly loyal to another? Who are the real heroes and villains? And most importantly..…Whose side are you on?
Over at Quay Arts, the newly-formed youth theatre group GetOnStage are producing their first big show – Alice, The Musical, on 14th and 15th June at 14:00.
The show is based on the famous story of the girl who feel down a rabbit hole and ended up in a crazy, topsy-turvey world peopled by talking animals, mad hatters and playing card characters.
