Shanklin Sandown Rowing Club travelled to Southampton last weekend for the Itchen Junior Regatta and secured 9 victories, a club record for a single event.

Ethan Walters and Riley Horrix continued their successful season by winning both the J14 and J15 Double Sculls, with Ethan also claiming the J14 Single Sculls race with Riley crossing the line in 2nd.

Rachael Debenham also secured 3 wins on the day, winning in the J14 Double with Scarlett Phelan, the J15 Double with Mia Phelan and as part of the J15 Quad along with the Phelan sisters, Yasmin Wright and Emily Faithfull (cox).

Kayleigh Batchelor won the girls J13 Single and Double titles, the latter giving Scarlett Phelan her third win of the day.

Sophie Atkin took the runners up spot in the J16 Sculls, whilst Lottie Tapsell completed the club’s remarkable day by winning the J15 Single Sculls from club mate Yasmin Wright.
