The Isle of Wight’s first charity Yogathon is taking place this Sunday (29th October) from 08:00-17:00 at Gurnard Pines.
Over the past few months the Caribbean Islands have been battered by hurricanes. Hurricane Irma left many of the islands barely habitable and Hurricane Maria closely followed, ripping through these already vulnerable islands and causing further devastation.
2 local Island businesses, CR Systems in Cowes and Gurnard Pines/Cowes Club in Gurnard, have teamed up with some of the island’s best yoga teachers to create a fun way to do their part to help those on other islands affected by the disaster.
A wide variety of free classes and yoga styles is being laid on, with something for everyone. The teachers are asking for a donation of £7 a class, 100% of which goes directly to the British Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund. There will be a diverse range of yoga from Hatha to Ashtanga to Yin, with options for everyone from beginner to expert. So if anyone ever wanted to give yoga a try there will never have been a better time and place.
The money raised will be matched £1 for £1 by the UK Government’s UK Aid Scheme.
To join a class on Sunday, visit www.iowyoga.co.uk to book. No need to bring a yoga mat as these will be provided on the day, just arrive in comfortable clothing you can move in.
