The volunteer crew of Yarmouth RNLI were called into action yesterday evening (Saturday) to assist a motorboat with mechanical issues in Totland Bay.
At 17:25 the All Weather Lifeboat (ALB) made its way from Yarmouth Harbour around the coast to Totland, where the casualty vessel was quickly located.
The Y-Boat – which is stowed away at the rear of the ALB – was deployed to tow the motorboat clear before the Severn-class lifeboat took over.
The disabled vessel was towed to the safety of Yarmouth.
