An opportunity has arisen to manage the Isle of Wight football teams with vacancies for both the men’s and women’s team managers. The teams compete in the international Island Games every 2 years. The Isle of Wight men’s side have successfully taken part in this event since 1991, having achieved 2 gold medals (1995 and 2011) and 3 bronzes (1997, 1999 and 2023). In last year’s Guernsey Island Games, the men’s team reached the semi-final, in which they lost 2-3 to Jersey, before beating Bermuda 2-3 in the 3rd-place playoff game to take bronze. The best performance of the Isle of Wight women’s football side came in 2009 and 2017 when they achieved 4th place. The Isle of Wight Divisional Football Association have written:
“Representative Managers are required for both the Island Ladies and Men’s teams.
“The role will involve selection, preparation and management of the teams for the International Island Games in 2025.”
