Police are appealing for witnesses after a 60-year-old woman was assaulted whilst on the Esplanade in Shanklin on Wednesday (13th June).
A man threw a sandwich board at the woman, hitting her in face and shoulder resulting in swelling and bruising.
The incident happened between 19:50 and 20:05 near to Coles Bazaar.
A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault but has been released under investigation. However, officers would like to appeal to for witnesses to assist the investigation.
