Despite a wet and windy start to the weekend, this year’s Jack up the Summer saw thousands of 80s and 90s fans dancing to top throwback tunes at Fairlee Farm in Newport.
After a successful start to the retro weekend on Friday with ‘Ska Wars’, the weather turned for the worse and resulted in the cancellation of the event on Saturday. The adverse weather conditions meant it was unsafe to open the site, although best efforts were made to proceed as planned.
Those with day tickets for Saturday were invited to join the crowds on Sunday as the wind died down and the rain cleared. Neon colours were aplenty and the atmosphere was electric as always when a full day of entertainment was delivered as planned on the last day of the 3-day festival.
Previously called Jack up the 80s, the event was renamed Jack up the Summer for 2019 and moved from Smallbrook Stadium in Ryde to Fairlee Farm in Newport.
