6 shortlisted entries in this year’s Wight Noize competition will battle it out at an industry showcase event later this week in the hopes of securing a spot on the main stage at the Isle of Wight Festival 2019.
Since 2002, Platform One’s partnership with Isle of Wight Festival has given the opportunity for 17 bands to play on the festival main stage and over 800 bands and artists on the Platform One Stage. This year is no different…
Entries into this year’s Wight Noize competition have been whittled down from 14 to a shortlisted 6, who will now go on to perform at Strings in Newport this Saturday (11th May). It’s here that the artists/bands will get a professional showcase experience, gaining genuine industry feedback in order to support their ongoing development.
All bands will perform a 20-minute set of originals (strictly no covers). The industry panel will provide written feedback – confidential to the bands – which will be sent after the event.
Each act appearing on the night will be programmed on the Platform One Stage at the Isle of Wight Festival with 1 lucky act being selected by the industry panel to open the main stage on Sunday 16th June.

The Wight Noize Showcase will take place at Strings Music Venue, Newport on Saturday 11th May. Open to 16+. Entry £2.50. Doors open at 19:00.
