If you’re stuck for something to do with the kids today (Saturday) why not head along to the Wight Military Museum in Northwood for their open day.
They have a varied programme of activities lined up including a ‘skirmish’ between the English and the Germans that takes place twice during the day. Be warned though that this does involve some loud explosions and gunfire so please take extra care with nervous animals and small children.
Vehicle rides are also available for most of the day – you can select your vehicle and purchase your ticket at reception, or you may wish to test your driving skills in our retired army truck.
Whilst you’re waiting have a look round the museum or try your luck on their air rifle shooting range.

- 10:45 – 11:30 – Re-enactment ‘What might have happened if the German’s had landed’
- 11:45 – 1230 – Bunker Girls – Music and Songs from the Wartime Period
- 12:45 – 13:30 – Moving Vehicle Display
- 13:45 – 14:30 – Bunker Girls
- 14:30 – 15:00 – Isle of Wight Youth Concert Orchestra
- 15:00 – 15:30 – Mata Haris’ Turkish Dancers
- 15:30 – 16:15 – Re-enactment ‘What might have happened if the German’s had landed’
- 16:15 – 16:30 – Closing Ceremony
